Profile
In 2004 I wrote the book Van Massamerk naar Mensmerk (from Mass Brand to Human Brand) that in the end appeared for sale in August 2005. It describes how media will change in the coming decade, how brands will adapt and what today’s professionals can do to anticipate the changes. In 2005 the book was awarded a top 3 nomination for a Dutch Marketing Literature Awards and was reprinted in 2006.
On January 1st, 2005, I started my Dutch blog Mensmerk.nlto keep track of the developments. It was the first book in the Netherlands that combined with a weblog. Since recently, the website is also available in English with translations since April, 2007. Someone who writes on a blog, is labeled by the outside world as ‘blogger’. In 2008 the website was given three nominations for the longlist of Dutch Bloggies (the race for the Netherlands’ best blogs). Two of these made it onto the short list (top five list). One in the category ‘best marketing blog’, the other in the category ‘best design’. The nomination that only made the long list fell in the category ‘business’.
Furthermore I’ve been writing for the marketing blogs Marketingfacts and Molblog.nl since 2005.
Alongside these writing endeavors I’m also working on a new book with the working title of Pamper Planet, completely on line with the MegaTrend Pamper Planet which describes the future in 2050.
As author and blogger I try to give people as many tips as I can. That’s why part III of my book is completely dedicated to practical tips. In my blog too the predictions for concrete developments are often just ideas people could use. And they do use them. This way I can fulfill my mission perfectly too.
I give lectures and workshops regarding my book Van Massamerk naar Mensmerk and the philosophy behind Pamper Planet.
